Murali Venkatraman

Biography

Dr. Murali Sankar Venkatraman is the Head  of Data Analytics and AI at ENOWA - the Energy and Water company of NEOM and an Adjunct professor at the Climate Change Centre of KAUST.  He is also responsible for forging R&D relations with key universities which can bring key technologies to the Energy and Water domains of ENOWA.  With KAUST, he runs the Energy Cortex program with many projects focused on using KAUST expertise for ENOWA.

Prior to joining NEOM, he was the head of Artificial Intelligence for SAAL.AI in Abu Dhabi where he we led a number of AI projects and product development for healthcare, oil and gas and infrastructure sectors.

He holds a PhD in mathematical modelling in chemical engineering (energy storage) from the University of South Carolina, USA and MS in Statistics from UNSW, Sydney.  He did his postdoc at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Univ of California Berkeley and served as a scientist at CSIRO National Labs of Australia for more than 8 years with many journal papers and externally funded company projects to his credit.
