Biography

Professor  Mark van Loosdrecht is Chair professor in environmental biotechnology at Delft University of Technology. His main interest are development of novel wastewater treatment processes and processes to convert waste into resources. Several technologies (e.g. Anammox and Nereda) are worldwide implemented in practice. He has supervised over 75 PhD students. He is member of the Dutch Royal Academy of Sciences and of the Dutch, Chinese and USA Academies of Engineering.​
