Biography

Ali H. Muqaibel (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 1996 and 1999, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA, USA, in 2003. During his study with Virginia Tech, he was with the Time Domain and RF Measurements Laboratory and the Mobile and Portable Radio Research Group. He was a Visiting Associate Professor with the Center of Advanced Communications, Villanova University, Villanova, PA, USA, in 2013, a Visiting Professor with the Georgia Institute of Technology, in 2015, and a Visiting Scholar with the King Abdullah University for Science and Technology, Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, from 2018 to 2019. He is currently a Professor with the Electrical Engineering Department, KFUPM. He is also the Director of the Center for Communication Systems and Sensing. He has authored two book chapters and over 130 articles. His research interests include direction of arrival estimation, through-wall-imaging, localization, channel characterization, and ultra-wideband signal processing. He was a recipient of many awards in the excellence in teaching, advising, and instructional technology.
