Abhay Kotecha is the Applications Development Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He focuses on developing strategies for using cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to study molecular and cellular biology. Abhay completed his DPhil in Structural Biology at the University of Oxford, where he worked on developing vaccines using high-resolution X-ray crystallography and cryo-EM. He continued as a post-doctoral fellow and later as a senior scientist, working on cryo-EM structures of viruses, membrane proteins, and virus receptor complexes. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, Abhay leads a team of scientists that has generated high-resolution structures of various biological samples, from small sub-100 kDa proteins to large multi-megadalton proteins.​
