Mr. Abdel Moneim Al-Shawaf is currently the Head of Plant Protection Department, Palms and Dates Center, Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA), Al-Ahsa, KSA. In 2004, he received a M.Sc. degree from King
Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh. He has significantly contributed to efforts to combat the red palm weevil (RPW) in Saudi Arabia. He has also been active in facilitating local farmers in modernizing ways to help farmers manufacture and preserve date harvest. In addition to his research publications, his work has been implemented in the field to directly help local farmers, especially in Al-Ahsa city.
