Prof. Alhajhoj graduated from King Faisal University (KFU), Saudi Arabia. He received his M.Sc. from the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA, and obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Reading, UK. Prof. Alhajhoj is currently working as a Full Professor of Horticulture, Department of Arid Land Agriculture, College of Agriculture and Food Sciences. He worked for eight years as the Director for Date Palm Research Center of Excellence (DPRC), KFU. He was also the Acting Director of Water Studies Centre. Professor Alhajhoj also served as the Dean of Student Affairs, KFU, and Chairman of the University's Student Support Fund Board. He has supervised various research programs at DPRC. Among his areas of research interest are the development and improvement of plant production, agricultural environments, soil improvement and rationing of irrigation water use, as well as environmental designs and caring for gardens and vegetation cover. His interest areas are soil amendments, date palm physiology, and water conservation. Besides, Prof. Alhajhoj has been serving in various academic and community programs. He has published many research articles in international refereed journals. He has also actively participated in various national and international conferences, workshops, training, symposia, and an active member of various scientific organizations.
