The Wing Lab is also investigating the genome biology of terrestrial ecosystems that are native to Saudi Arabia via the KSA Native Genome Project. The long-term goal of this project is to develop a rewilding index that can be used as a platform to assess the genetic health of terrestrial ecosystems across the KSA, and to domesticate a subset of plant species to contribute to sustainable food security in Saudi Arabia.
