Biography

A Chartered Engineer in UK and EU Engineering Council holding a full membership with the Royal Institute of Naval Architects (RINA), Spyridon T. Lalaounis, is heading the New Build Department at Bahri Ship Management, with more 18 years professional experience in Europe, Middle East and Asia. ​

Spyridon is currently leading the New Build team for all the new constructions within Bahri Group. Along with his team has successfully delivered 36 vessels for Bahri. 11 - VLCCs, 10 - 55K Chemical Carriers, 9 - 82K Bulk Carriers and 6 Multi-purpose Ro-Con Vessels. Spyridon is currently concentrating on new technologies and alternative fuels that can be implemented in the future new builds. He is holder of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) in Naval Architecture and Small Craft Engineering and two Masters of Science degrees, one in Marine Engineering (MSc) and one in Business Information Technology Systems (MSc). Prior of joining Bahri in 2011, he held several senior positions in leading ship organizations such as Teekay Shipping Corporation and Anglo-Eastern Group completing various projects in Europe, Middle East and Asia. Spyridon is a proud father of 3.5 and 2 years-old boys.​
